  • Was Zonal Commander of North upper Nile (1987-1988) and Southern Blue Nile (1990-1991)
  • Director of SPLM office co-ordination and External Relations, OCER (1988-1990)
  • SPLM Chief Negotiator on peace talks (1988-1991)
  • SPLM Negotiator of and focal point on operation lifetime Sudan (1989-1990)
  • Following the Split of the SPLM/A in 1991, became the SPLM-Nasir Secretary of External Relations
