National Congress Renews its Keenness for Dialogue with Political Forces on Post-Separation Issues

A number of the Leadership Office of the National Congress commented Sunday, in press statements, on what was declared by the opposition parties in their meeting which was held at the headquarters of the Sudanese Communist Party
The Secretary of Organizations at the National Congress, Dr. Qotbi Al-Mahdi, said that talking about a people's uprising represents a flagrant violation of the law and the Constitution which was approved by these forces themselves. He described the call of the opposition as immoral issue, stressing that democracy and freedoms are prevalent in the country
Dr. Al-Mahdi said that the National Congress has received positive signals from a number of political forces concerning the exposed programme of the broad-based government
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Member of the Leadership Office of the National Congress, Dr. Kamal Obeid, denounced the opposition parties' declaration, calling on the opposition parties to respect the Constitution that was approved unanimously
Dr. Obeid expressed the National Congress welcome and non objection to review the opposition's vision on the form of Sudan after the separation of the south concerning the five regions, adding that the dialogue in this regard is possible
He said that the meeting of the Political Sector of the National Congress renewed its meeting Sunday the keenness for continuity of dialogue with the different political parties
The Minister of Youth and Sports and member of the Leadership Office, Haj Majid Suwar, also affirmed the National Congress keenness for dialogue with the political forces on the post-separation issues, especially in connection with the Constitution and the executive authority
